Translational immunology in colorectal liver metastases
Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most common cancer in the U.S, and many patients with colorectal cancer will eventually develop metastatic disease in their liver. Perhaps more importantly, the development of liver metastases is associated with an immunosuppressive response that renders immunotherapy less effective in these patients. My research focuses on studying human liver tumors and adjacent normal liver tissue to find ways to make immunotherapy more effective for patients with colorectal liver metastases.
